A lot of people get confused when they try to figure out what exactly SotG is all about. They are used to a standard NGO model which usually focuses on just a few main societal issues. This allows NGOs to form strategic partnerships and present an easy to understand model which attracts funding from people passionate about those topics.
The SotG approach is different because we realized very early on that one of the main reasons why so many societal issues persist is that Personal Accountability is not emphasized enough in the attempted solutions. We don’t claim that any major issue can be solved solely by Personal Accountability, simply that any solution which doesn’t include it will likely fall short of its goals in the long term.
As one of the only global organizations focused on Personal Accountability, we realized that the task in front of us was immense and also that most likely for any solution we found, there was probably some organization somewhere in the world which already was implementing that solution. So we dedicated ourselves to building a widespread network and developing a menu of solutions. Each of our local partners and National Chapters first determined which issues in their society or region are currently trying to be solved by method which don’t include (enough) Personal Accountability.
Then we help them craft a specific solution to that problem, either utilizing our Impact Network, or simply finding somebody in another region or country who is already implementing a similar solution.
Our leadership team for each region of the world are currently undergoing the process of developing Strategic Plans for their region, which will typically consist of prioritizing 3 or more of the following Divisions which they will work on in the short term. These Strategic Plans will be revisited at least once per year.
Primary divisions ——————————————————————————————————-
Women’s Empowerment
Youth Leadership
Entrepreneurial Support
Changing Corporate Culture
Supporting other NGOs
Secondary divisions—————————————————————————————————
Climate & Sustainability
Diversity & Inclusion
Creative Impact
Careers With a Purpose & Career Transition
Academia/University Life
Long Term Societal Impact thinking
Each of these divisions overlaps with 2 or more our 4 Pillars.
For example for Women’s Empowerment:
Some of our NGO partners will run programs specifically for women and girls
Some of our coaching partners will run programs specifically for women
The Impactful Women’s Network brings together most of our other offerings while also establishing a global partnership organization focused on Impact. Women’s Empowerment will also be one of the core committees of the Global SotG100 and many of the Regional/National versions
Our social movement will support gender equality movements and there are several gender specific activities included in the manual for SotG Clubs.
